A movement. No new feed.

You only meant to check your phone. Now you know the morning routine of someone from Ohio.
Let’s get our good time back.
Just one more video.
For 40 minutes.
Sometimes the feed is fun. Sometimes you keep going longer than you meant to. When it regularly crowds out sleep, daily life or relationships, it deserves a closer look.
When “a minute” becomes a pattern.
Loss of control, neglecting other activities, continuing despite negative consequences: WHO describes these addiction-like signs. Screen time alone is not a diagnosis.
A simplified habit loop, not a measurement of your brain. If your use is causing distress, a counselling service or healthcare professional can help.
How much time is in there? →You have time.
It’s just on your phone.
Nobody needs to optimise every minute. But a little less feed could leave quite a lot of room for something else.
7,6 whole 24-hour days.
One block = one full day. Calculation: minutes × 365 ÷ 60. Your chosen scenario, not a promised effect.
Maybe just sit somewhere again. Without knowing what everyone else is doing.
Someone come to mind? →Contact list.
Instead of followers.
You know what they ate yesterday. But do you know how they are? Three good reasons to call again.
01The “we should catch up” friend.Today could be that day.
Hey, we keep saying “soon”. Fancy a walk this week?
02Your favourite person.A conversation without multitasking.
Let’s get something to eat. Phones in pockets. I want to hear how you really are.
03You.Pretty good company, too.
Out for a walk. Just because. Catch you later.
These are ideas for your own contacts. We don’t access your address book or send anything for you.
And which phone comes along? →Makes calls.
Often, that’s enough.
A flip phone makes hanging up a proper action again. You can also start with an evening on the phone you already own. Without the feed.
One evening. No big drama.
Tell your people how to reach you. Put your smartphone away or turn off mobile data and Wi-Fi. Keep essential calls possible.
Think through your day.
Contacts, tickets, navigation, banking and two-factor sign-in: what do you need on the go? Prepare alternatives before switching.
Then try the flip.
Borrow a phone or look for a used one. Before buying, check network support, SIM, call quality and the functions you actually need.
Together,
less online.
No contract. No new phone required. Just people who want to be more present in their own lives.

Good reception.
Good sources, too.
We want less doomscrolling. We don’t need to invent scary numbers to get there.
- WHO / HBSC · 2024 ↗
2022 survey data on problematic social media use among adolescents. Source of our 100-person graphic. Describes indicators and associations, not individual diagnoses.
- Castelo et al. · PNAS Nexus, 2025 ↗
Randomised study: two weeks without smartphone internet, with calls and texts still available. Reports improvements in attention and well-being. A short intervention, not a trial of buying a flip phone. Participation and adherence limit generalisability.
- WHO Europe · Policy brief, 2025 ↗
Mental health and digital use can affect one another. An association does not prove one-way causation. Changing phones does not guarantee better mental health.
Do I have to delete Instagram immediately?
You decide what works for you. Start with a concrete change: no feed at dinner, an evening without your smartphone, or a set window on your computer.
Are smartphones inherently bad?
No. They can be useful and help people connect. This movement is for anyone who wants more distance. There’s no prize for being the most offline.
CONNECTED TO REAL LIFE
Flip shut.
Live more.
You’re reachable. But not for everything.
Call someone. Go for a walk. There’s nothing more to miss here today.
